Scanners Being Pushed

The use of scanners is nothing more than corporations lobbying law makers for the right to sell them. Anybody that thinks the Government really cares about their safety is kidding themselves. This is nothing but a new business deal between scanner makers and government.

I'm not sure what your thinking, but your obviously a conspiracy nut, and you need to stay home. If you seriously think this is all to sell scanners, then think back to 9/11. I guess the government and scanner manufacturers made that all up and it is actually a hoax. Your an idiot......get over it and wake up!!!!!

When you feel the box cutter penetrate your rib cage, you'll change your opinion!

911 has taught us a lot however, with a monopoly company like TSA that is payed by the governmnet and has no one keeping them in check you can bet there is someone making money and not reaaly caring about the public's safety.

The problem with the scanners is they have not have had an independant safety check. The manufacturer said they were safe, and noone, not FDA nor anyone else has done a full complete radiological test. Bad news. As far as security, as anyone in the business and/or intelligence sectors can say, you cannot ever rid oneself of potential terrorists. All you can do is give up freedom to never achieve that.

box cutter could not penetrate bone. I think we need to fund an organization to oversee the efficientcy of the TSA, to review its actions and provide recommendations for making the processing of travelers a simpler process, and for handling publicity and removing accountability for the TSA's shortcomings. or we could throw a few million to improve the current screening technology to reduce its radioactive effect, maybe instead sedate the passengers and lower their testosterone so they cannot uprise.

They won't be using box cutters. That's old school.

People, remember TSA was formed due to the Ineffectiveness of the Airlines and Private Security Sector. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)is one component of Homeland Security along with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) U.S. Secret Service Office of Inspector General TSA are Sworn Federal Officers not security guards. So if you don't like what TSA does to protect you the flying public then take a bus or train. Soon TSA will be there as well to protect you from terrorist that have nothing but time on their hands to kill for their agenda. We Americans are so spoiled that we forget those who are fighting for our country to protect our freedoms and our way of life. Just get over it and move on with your life. Life is too short.

I like the information provided by Wayne. I would like to add something further. I do not object to a full body scan. That is my personal preference. What I object is the attitude of many of the TSA employees. A few are the ones who are causing all of the problems. They all have a job to do, and I understand that. What I am furious about are the horror stories. That shows a lack of proper training and unfortunately, a complete lack of what they are supposed to do, so they seem to not know what they are doing. I just wonder how competant are the supervisors of those idiots who give the TSA a bad name?

i believe it is legit..

Good grief all you people wanting all that 'security' with TSA and the bunch of neanderthals that work for them .... freedom is not getting searched or xrayed or patted down ... unreasonable search??? I think so. make your trip out of the U.S. of A where freedom is not anymore a one way trip and live where the rest of us live ... with freedom from some group of nicompoops with a badge.

He is not a nut, you are just too blind and selfish to see. There is a much greater threat of crashing from pilot error then from a terrorist and after 9/11 there is no way they can get to the cockpit anyway... kwe, If you consider MIT to be "noone" then go ahead. MIT has studied this and the published report stated that you get more radiation exposure during a flight at 38,000 feet from solar radiation than the scanner.
